Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI) Programs

A generator of waste materials has a wide array of service requirements to consider. Coordinating an off-site waste shipment can be a complex endeavor involving environmental compliance, documentation, approvals, and health & safety concerns. While these considerations will vary depending on the type and quantity of the waste materials, there are a few basic elements that should be considered for every shipment. These activities are often not your specialty, Brendar is pleased to offer assistance with all aspects of coordinating your next waste shipment, including ...

Inventory
Obtaining an accurate inventory of the type and quantity of wastes to shipped. This is beneficial to all parties in terms of accurately assessing the scope of the services required and budgeting accordingly.

Generator Registration
Hazardous waste generators must be registered with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE). This registration requires the business and the technical waste information to be filed with the Ministry before waste shipments can be conducted. As of August 31st, 2007, generators are also required to identify materials subject to the Land Disposal Restriction (LDR) Program and register these materials appropriately, indicating all the regulated constituents and associated treatment status.

Waste Packaging
What is the best way to package your waste materials? The waste must be packaged and labelled to reflect MOE waste classes, the transportation of dangerous goods regulation (Transport Canada – TDG Regulation), general compatibility of chemicals and the most cost effective method of handling at the MOE licensed waste receivers. These criteria are integrated together for every waste stream and every waste shipment.

Transportation & Disposal
Coordinating your waste shipments with an appropriately licensed waste hauler and waste receiver provides peace of mind and ensures the highest standards are being met. Proper shipping documentation and notifications are critical for ensuring environmental compliance and verifying your company's due diligence. Let Brendar's experience and professional staff assist in coordinating your transportation and disposal requirements.
